Breeze North Watford to Aldenham Country Park - Let's Ride Through Winter

Starting from the Timberlake Car Park off Radlett Road in North Watford, this scenic route is best suited to mountain bikes and hybrids with offroad tyres.

The route is 50% offroad and takes you on quiet lanes and woodland bridleways, through Aldenham Village and Letchmore Heath to the beautiful Aldenham Country Park and reservoir. Here we can enjoy a snack, hot drink or cake from the kiosk or Rustic Rhubarb cafe, before heading back. There are also toilets on site. If it's quiet and not too muddy we will do a loop around the lake as well.

Mountain bikes, hybrids with offroad tyres, gravel / cyclocross bikes are best suited to this. Bridleways and off road tracks may have muddy and uneven surfaces so road / slick tyres are not suitable.

Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear a helmet as the route goes through some bumpy terrain. Don't forget a drink and a snack, a spare inner tube or two, and some cash or a card in case of emergency (please note the kiosk has a minimum card fee of £3). We don't normally need bike locks here but you can bring one if you like.

Please arrive by 10:50am so we can run through a riders register and bike checks before we set off.

Let's Ride Through Winter!

From Sunday 7 January 2024 until Sunday 31 March 2024, British Cycling and Breeze are challenging you to take part in at least four winter rides, across Guided Rides and Breeze.

Everyone who completes this winter mission will receive a digital Let's Ride Through Winter completion certificate which you can share across your social media platforms. Prize draws for participants will also run every two weeks. The more rides you complete, the more entries you get!
