Starting point

South Yorkshire

This Breeze ride is all on trails and is an ideal introduction to riding up and down slopes( there are only a couple and you can walk if you still don't feel confident) We will ride to the pace of the slowest rider and aim to build confidence in riding on trails, it's a great ride to have a go at the longer distances or it can be repeated at a later date until you feel confident. The trails are more suited to Hybrid or Mountain bikes. We start this ride going towards Sprotborough and follow the Trail which runs along a disused railway line for about 1 mile before we turn slightly left towards the River Don. We follow the river Most of the route through Sprotbrough, Harlington and onwards to Manvers lake, which is our refreshment stop today. Come and join us for an steady paced ride in our beautiful countryside. Build up your confidence on your bike on a friendly ride led by volunteer Breeze champions who will do their utmost to ensure you have an enjoyable ride. So that the ride goes smoothly please check your bike over before you set out and pump your tyres up to the recommended pressure. It's a good idea to get in the habit of doing a quick check before every ride. Please make sure you have the following: A bike in good working order A puncture repair kit - spare inner tube, pump and tyre levers (if you get a puncture we'll help you but you need to bring the kit to fix it) Comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for cycling and changes in the weather (layers are good) A helmet Water/a drink and maybe a snack for en route. We will be going at a pace that's comfortable for everyone, so no one will get left behind and there will be a Breeze champion at the front and back of the group. We will go through some guidelines before we start, but the important basics are to take responsibility for yourself, look out for and support other riders and enjoy a good chat in the great British outdoors! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask via the conversation tab. Please make sure you let one of the Breeze champions know of any medical conditions or other circumstances that they might need to be aware of before the ride.
