Hello Ladies! I'm Jo, I love encouraging women to get on their bikes! Please don't worry about the pace as we adjust to riders abilities, stay together and never leave anyone behind, they'll be time along the cycle paths for a good chat and confidence building (8-10mph). Start: Deeside Leisure Centre main entrance, CH5 1SA (9:30am). Midpoint refreshments: Chocks Away Diner, CH4 0GZ (table booked for approx. 11:00-11:30am). Finish (refreshments available): Deeside Leisure Centre main entrance, CH5 1SA (1:30pm) This route will begin at the Deeside Leisure Centre at 9:30am. We will start off with some essential bike safety checks which can help you pick up some great tips with checking your bike before each ride. We shall head off a short way along the road towards the National Cycle Network path which takes us over Hawarden Bridge. Our route then travels along the scenic River Dee traffic-free National Cycle Network (NCN) Path towards Saltney Ferry bridge. Who knows, we may see a Wing carrier or a Beluga as we travel along the river! We will head over the Saltney Ferry bridge then take a right turn along some country roads until we reach Chocks Away where we can have some refreshments alongside the Airbus Airfield. On the return route, we will head back along the river until we reach the Welsh Road in Garden City, we will cycle along the road using the integrated cycle path, this route is great if your looking at getting some confidence for cycling on the road! We will then pick the NCN cycle path up at the Deeside Industrial Estate (alongside the Red Dragon bridge) and head back towards Hawarden Bridge and to the Deeside Leisure Centre where you can pop in for a drink and a cake for £2.00. The whole ride is on roads or cycle paths. Requirements for the ride: Helmets are mandatory. Suitable clothing (warm if cold, rainwear if forecast) Cash and/or card if buying refreshments A drink for the ride Spare inner tube Rear bike light Most importantly: You and your bike! I hope you can come! It's going to be a great ride. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to message me before hand and I will do what I can to help!
