Breeze to The Garden Gate at Crook Hall and back via Chester Low Road

Starting at Washington Arts Centre we'll head along the C2C to Birtley where we'll join the cycle route on the A167. We'll head along the 167 all the way to Durham and down to Crook Hall on the river. After a refreshment stop we'll head along towards Frankland Lane and then take the back roads along Chester Low Road and Holmhill Lane before meeting the A167 near Chester le Street for a return to The Arts Centre.

Join us for a ride along the A167 cycle route to Durham for coffee and snacks at the Crook Hall cafe before returning via the back lanes and quieter roads

Mainly on cycle paths and quieter roads with a small section of tracks on the return route.

We'll stop at the Garden Gate Cafe at Crook Hall for refreshments and chatter

Make sure you wear gloves and suitable warm clothes as the weather is changeable at this time of year. Bring a drink and snacks that you might need. You should ensure that your bike is in good working order and that you have a spare inner tube (please check that it is the right size for your wheels) and basic tools. Lights are advisable at this time of year when the days can be be rather dull. Helmets are strongly recommended but not mandatory.
