Breeze up to Kenwood House and Alexandra Palace

This route starts at the café in Swan Lane Open Space, and takes us on mainly quiet roads towards Hampstead Heath and up a few hills. This is suitable for riders that are comfortable with being able to ride 8-10 miles without a break and want to take the next step in improving fitness and endurance. There are a few places where we will be on main roads.

The route take us to West Finchley and up through Finchley Central where we'll take the quiet roads to Hampstead Garden Suburb. We now start to benefit from the open spaces of Hampstead Heath as we ride up windy Wildwood Road and Ingram Avenue. This is a steep hill but there are opportunities to rest or walk if you like. We stop at the attractive café at Kenwood House and can admire the view from Hampstead Heath over London.

Next stop is Alexandra Palace which is up another hill but we’ll again benefit from more beautiful views over London and can stop for an ice cream if needed.

The trip back to Swan Lane Open Space is along quiet roads and mostly downhill !

Please make sure that your bike is in working order and that tyres are pumped up. Please wear a helmet, gloves are recommended. You will also need water for the journey and payments for any coffees, teas or snacks.
