Starting from - Watford Cycle Hub has free parking, loos and a café serving hot and cold snacks, pasties and pizzas (with a bit of notice).

Make sure you arrive early enough to check your tyre pressures and pump up or replace tubes if needed. The Hub has all the equipment you will need, and friendly people to help out. WD18 9QD

Leaving Watford Cycle Hub, we will take quiet roads and then join the canal towpath up to Hunton Bridge before stopping at Cheslyn House & Gardens where we will spend some time admiring the beautiful gardens, aviary, fish pond and exotic trees and shrubs in their autumn colours.

Note: this is suitable for any bike but the canal towpath may be muddy so we would recommend offroad tyres on a Hybrid / MTB / Gravel bike rather than a road bike with skinny tyres.

You MUST bring a bike lock with you as bikes cannot be taken around the gardens, but there is a bike rack provided just inside the grounds.

There is no cafe stop on this short ride but we will aim to spend up to 45 minutes in the gardens. Hot and cold drinks and snacks are available at the Cycle Hub at the end.

Please bring:

- One or two spare inner tubes, tyre levers and any tools you may need to remove your bike wheel in case of a puncture.
- Hand sanitiser and mask.
- A drink and a snack.
- A good quality bike lock as bikes will be out of sight as we walk around the gardens.
- Please wear a helmet for your own safety.

Also important at this time of year - please ensure your bike has front and rear lights. A bell is also handy especially on the towpath to provide a friendly advance notice to any walkers.

Please arrive by 10:50am so we can run through a riders register, bike checks and a brief on the ride before we set off.

You should pay particular attention to your bike being in good working order before attending a ride so as to minimise risks and disruption to rides.

Participants must not attend a ride if they have COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with anyone with symptoms.

Anyone who develops COVID-19 symptoms during a ride must inform a leader.

Anyone who develops COVID symptoms after a ride must contact the leader who will inform British Cycling HQ who will then contact everyone who attended the ride.
