Please read ALL the information carefully. If you are unsure about any of the details please ask.

Starting from Stanley Ferry Inn we cycle left out onto Ferry Lane for 400yards where we join the Wakefield Eastern Relief Road on a 2 mile purpose build cycle path. We follow the cyclepath all the way to Doncaster Road.
Using the crossing we cross Doncaster Road and cycle up the cycle path to turn Right onto Oakenshaw Lane.
Oakenshaw Lane will be a road section of 0.5mile, after which we turn left into Walton Nature reserve. After completing a lap of the reserve we make our way back to Doncaster Road via Oakenshaw Lane.
Crossing back over Doncaster Road we cycle up to Heath on a track that skirts the edge of the heathland.
Once at the top we turn left onto Kirkthopre Lane and follow this cycling on the rad for 0.5 mile.
Turning left off Kirkthorpe Lane we follow a track down through South Washlands Woods and onto the Washlands Meadows.
We reach the 'Blue Bridge' crossing it using the cycle ramps on either side.
Following the track we take our first right and cycle through South Washlands Nature reserve and the Hydroelectic Dam.
As we exit from the reserve we negociate a gate leading over the canal bridge. After crossing the bridge we turn immediately right down the track running along the canal. Through an A frame gate we join the canal tow path finishing our ride back at Stanley Ferry ... for a hot brew!

It's that time of year when it's VERY cold out so please please dress for the temperatures and for cycling!
If you are well prepared and wrapped up warm you will enjoy your cycling so much more.
Plenty of thin layers are better than a couple of thick layers.
Two pairs of socks are always a good idea.
Waterproof,
GLOVES are a must,
Hat that covers your ears that is thin enought to get under your cycling helmet.
Long trousers, please ensure there are no flapping trouser legs that can get caught in your chain.
Full shoe/trainer.
IMPORTANT: CYCLING HELMETS MUST BE WORN. You will not be allowed to participate if you do not have a cycling helmet.
If you require any further information please don't hesitate to contact me.
Hope to see you on the ride. Jo
