Dock Road car park in Connah’s Quay (CH5 4DS)

Breezin' Across the Border Hello, I'm Jo and I'm 31 and mum of three children. I mainly cycle for my commute and for enjoyment with other cyclists and my kids. My main aim is to encourage other women who want to get out on their two-weheeled mean machines! This nice and steady ride will begin at the Dock Road car park in Connah’s Quay (CH5 4DS). Meeting at 9:45am for our bike checks and introductions, we will set off at 10am. We will mainly be cycling on cycle paths with some quiet roads and a short distance on a purpose built cycle lane on a main road. The ride: After a bike check we will set off along NCR5 coast road cycle path over the Hawarden Bridge railway crossing. We will continue along the Chester Millennium cycle path until we reach Shotwick where we will cross over to enter a quiet lane towards the Wirral. We will re-enter the cycle network and head towards Dunkirk lane which will then take us along quiet lanes towards Hosta Coffee in Ledsham for refreshments! The journey back will be along the same route however, we will cycle through Garden City using a purposeful cycle lane as part of the main carriageway then cross the road to re enter the cycle path and enjoy the riverside view along the Dee. Don't forget: A bottle of water, a little snack (small banana is perfect) to keep the energy levels up, if you would like a tea/coffee/cake bring some money (cash) since Hosta Coffee do not accept bank cards. It is expected to be chilly, so it is recommended that riders layer up their warm clothing and wear gloves and warm socks and shoes. Also please bring with you any medications that you might need for the day. Returning: We aim to return to Connah’s Quay by at approximately 13:30-14:00. Look forward to seeing you then for a break from all the Christmas preparations as we enjoy taking some time for ourselves to enjoy the fresh air and lovely scenery with a super bunch of women!
