The cycle ride is about 38 miles. It is mainly flat with a couple of, not difficult, climbs near Corbridge and Newton. There is a mixture of off road cycling and quiet roads.
We will leave Pedalling Squares and cycle on the south side of the river to Wylam. Cross over the bridge at Wylam, past Bywell going towards Corbridge, double back past Brocksushes farm to Newton. The stop is at the Duke of Wellington Pub, Newton for Coffee, tea and a snack etc.
Return to Pedalling Squares via Stamfordham, throckley and Newburn then back along the south side of the river Tyne.
This is scenic route and suitable for any type of bike. Everyone is welcome on this no drop ride however please make sure your bike is in good working order and you are carrying spare inner tubes as punctures can be a problem at this time of year
