Pedalling Squares The Old Brassworks Swalwell

The route:- Leaving Pedalling Squares cycle on the south side of the Tyne to Wylam. Cross over the bridge to Ovingham and past Bywell to Corbridge. Turn right into Corbridge village and then left out of the village onto Corchester Lane towards Hexham. Cross Hexham bridge then turning right at the end of the bridge following the Tyne to the west. We follow the railway line (Hadrians cycleway route 72) to Warden. Stop at the Boatside Inn, Warden, for a snack etc returning to Pedalling Squares the same route. This is a lovely ride up the Tyne valley. The cycle ride is 50 miles and is a mixture of off road and quiet roads and mainly flat although there is a climb as we near Corbridge on the inward journey and a climb out of Corbridge on the way back. This cycle ride is suitable for any bike. There is no number restriction and this is a no drop ride, however, we aim to cycle at 10-12 miles per hour. Please ensure your bike is in good condition and you should carry two spare inner tubes as we do get punctures and it is quicker and better for the group just to replace your inner tube.
