The route:- Leave Pedalling Squares and cycle on the south side of the Tyne to the Baltic. Cross over the Millenium bridge and cycle on the North side of the Tyne via Scotswood and Lemington to Newburn. Cross over Newburn bridge and cycle on the south side of the Tyne to Wylam. Cross over Wylam bridge and cycle on the road to Ovingham. Cross over Ovingham bridge to the Cycleart café, Low Prudhoe for a snack etc. Return to Pedalling Sqaures again cycling over Ovingham bridge and on the road to Wylam. Cycle on the north side of the Tyne through Newburn and Lemington to Scotwood bridge to Pedalling Sqaures.
This cycle ride crosses five bridges and is about 30 miles. The cycle ride is mainly flat and is mainly off road. This cycle ride is suitable for any type of bike and is a no drop ride. The numbers are restricted to 30 riders and you should be able to cycle at 8-10 mile per hour. Everyone welcome.
Your cycle needs to be in good condition and you should consider bringing with you two spare inner tubes as we do get punctures and it is quicker and better for the group to just change your inner tube.
