Brockenhurst to Burley Road & Tracks Loop

This ride is a mixture of roads and tracks. The aim is to build confidence on roads if you're new to cycling or getting back into it, with some forest tracks in between to group together and chat! There are 10.5 miles of roads in 5 sections with 9 miles of tracks in between. Ride time will be about 2-2.5 hours and 3-3.5 hours including cafe stop. This route is not suitable for road bikes due to the gravel tracks. Mountain bikes / hybrid bikes only.

Don't forget a showerproof jacket and cash for the cafe stop in Burley and car park (if needed).

We start from the car park in Brockenhurst and take the road through the village centre onto Rhinefield Road / Rhinefield Ornamental Drive. We cross over the A35 and continue straight on along the road but turn off onto a forest track before the hill to the deer sanctuary! We follow a gravel track through the forest getting back to the road on the outskirts of Burley. We follow the road into Burley where we stop for a cafe stop (10.6 miles to this point). We follow Pound Lane to Burbush car park where we get on the disused railway line track to Holmesley tea rooms (if this is closed on the day we follow an alternative road route). We then get back on the road for 1 mile before getting back onto the disused railway line track to the outskirts of Brockenhurst. Then back to the car park in the village centre along Sway Road.
