We may have missed the bluebells but this beautiful ride on the road through Delcombe Woods is peaceful and scenic.  The sunlight dapples through the tree cover on this relatively flat route.  We will start and end at the car park of the Woolland Hill Local Nature Reserve where we you can bring a picnic for after the ride - either a tea and a cake or why not go the whole hog!  The views from up here are fantastic. Woolland Hill is an important site for wildlife, with one of the largest remaining fragments of chalk heath in Dorset. This rare habitat enables acid loving plants such as Heather and Tormentil to grow in an otherwise alkaline area. Its designation as a Site of Nature Conservation Interest highlights the area's value. The site also offers superb views across seven counties. The Wessex Ridgeway runs along the road in front of the site entrance. Newcomers to Breeze rides are very welcome, don't worry if you don't know anyone, we're a friendly bunch.  Dress appropriately for the weather: in cool weather it's good to wear lots of thin layers, so you can add/remove them as needed; a rain jacket is a good idea too!  Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then. Look forward to seeing you there!
