Starting point

Roxburghshire
TD9 8DS

Meet at the Bottle Bank on Henderson Road, Hawick and pedal out towards and past Appletree Hall onwards to Denholm, taking the right to go under the old railway bridge and down Hassendean. After the cross roads, take the next left and head onwards towards Ancrum village and right at the junction towards the A68. Take a right and then left, pedal to Woodside Garden Centre and to your Cafe stop at the Birdhouse Tea Room. Return journey is the same until you reach the crossroads. Here you will take a left and pedal by Denholm Beach and at the junction for Hornshole (which is left), continue onwards up the hill towards Burnfoot, taking a left at the main junction which takes you into Burnfoot Industrial Estate past Barrie Knitwear. Just beyond here there will be an opportunity to pedal onto the pavement to the right on the hill which will take you along the recently, re-surfaced Waverley Walk, but be careful as you will be sharing this with pedestrians. You will arrive onto Wilton Hill where you can turn left back into town, or right, back up the A7 to the Bottle Bank if you're car is parked there.

This is a community ride so please look out for each other and make sure nobody is left behind.

Please ensure your bike is in good working condition and the tyres are pumped up. Always wear a helmet and gloves are advisable. Please wear clothing to suit the weather conditions and carry with you any layers you might need. There are so many different types of bikes nowadays, so please have any spares or tools you might need for yours, have lights on your bike, and if you are e-bike user, then please make sure you have a full battery and if any mechanicals happen you have a back up plan to get home. You will also need pennies for the Cafe stop.

Enjoy your pedal.
