This is a mellow ROAD CYCLING ride. Road and gravel bikes are ideal.

Ideally 12.5mph Strava average speed over the distance. Therefore cycling along faster on flat roads (around 14mph), faster on descents and slower on hills.

Comfortable PACE OF SLOWEST. No one left behind.

Waiting at junctions and on top of hills (there aren’t many hills :> )

Please arrive with time to spare, we leave at 10am, back 2:30-3pm. Kindly do not rely on 3pm being a fixed return time.

CAFÉ 1 (coffee/tea & cake stop) is at 15miles. Charter Alley Village Store.

CAFÉ 2 (speedy rest/coca-cola/loo stop as needed) is at 28 miles. The Falcon, Rotherwick.

Then 4miles back to Hartley Wintney.

ROUTE: Mattingley, Bramley, Pamber End, CHARTER ALLEY Village Store (15miles), Monk Sherborne, NT The Vyne, Bramley, Sherfield on Loddon, ROTHERWICK The Falcon (28miles).

BIKE LIGHTS please! These are for you to be seen especially on lanes and in the shade of trees (whenever the sun is out!)

Please also bring an emergency on-bike snack (eg some biscuits), water, an emergency extra layer (eg a base layer).

A helmet is compulsory.

Please dress for the weather.

Your bike should be recently serviced and in good working order. Tyres properly inflated (should feel like an apple when pressed). No squeaking or rattling please.
