Cake Earner - Lasham

It’s time for cake :-)

Maintain your hard earned fitness over the winter and stay motivated with our series of weekend cafe rides.

Every month we aim to do a few longer road rides out into in the Hampshire countryside. These will be around 35-50 miles and include a cafe stop midway where we can refuel on coffee and cake.

This month we’re going to the Golden Glider cafe at Lasham Airfield for coffee and cake.

Our undulating circular 40 mile route includes a few longer hills and will take us out of Fleet through Dogmersfield, Odiham, Greywell and Up Nately. We’ll then head out to Cliddesden where we’ll turn left up the hill and past The Fox to Ellisfield and Herriard where your legs will be pleased to know it’s just a few more miles to the cafe.

Our route home will be a little shorter and, time permitting, take us through Foyle and Bentley before heading back to Fleet via Crondall and Cookham Village. NOTE: This ride is for the more experienced rider who is capable of sustaining an average speed of around 13mph over the distance.

We will meet outside Pedal Heaven Cycle Shop in Fleet at 9.15 so we are ready to set off promptly at 9.30. We are aiming to be back by 1.30. (3 hours 15 cycling / 13mph average).

Please make sure you wrap up warm with plenty of layers for the winter weather and carry a rain / wind jacket (if you aren't wearing it!). The wearing of a helmet is mandatory for this ride. Also, as we'll be riding for up to 2 hours before our cafe stop please bring enough food and drink to last you for the ride. Also, bring a spare inner tube and pump.
