A 35 mile loop, starting from the top end of Roath Lake, using suburban roads out to Pontprennau, then taking in a few big hills at the start of the route (up into Pontprennau, through Lisvane to Thornhill, over to Rhiwbina on the main roads, up part of Rhiwbina Hill, down into Tongwynlais and over the A470 and then up to Pentyrch). From there, down the hill and along to St Fagans, back into town past the castle and up through Cathays into Roath (about 24 miles up to this point). Then via Newport Road and New Road out through Rumney and Hendre Lake Park into Old St Mellons, back via Pontprennau to Roath Lake.

It's a real mixture of roads to be fair - some a little busier than others. Please do take a look at the map and check you're happy with it.

Remember to bring a drink and a snack - though we'll try to stop for coffee/cake as we come back through Cardiff about 20 miles into the ride.

Also please bring spares and tools in case of a puncture, check your bike over before coming, and always wear a helmet!

Any issues on the day, pop a message on the Ride Conversation tab below or on the Cardiff Social Cycling Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/1984875485078609/

(1) Please do not book a place on the ride should you, or anyone in your household, be suffering from any of the following symptoms:
- New continuous cough
- High temperature
- Loss of, or change to, your normal sense of smell or taste (anosmia)

(2) When booking your place on the ride, please ensure that you have completed all the contact details. We will need these should anyone who is on the ride subsequently become aware of Covid-19 symptoms so that we can follow the guidelines in the ‘Trace, Test and Protect’ program.

(3) If you, or anyone in your household, develop Covid-19 symptoms after booking, please cancel your place on the ride.
