Transporter Bridge Visitor Centre

Starting beneath the imposing bulk of Middlesbrough's Transporter Bridge, this 20 mile out and back route links the city centre with one of the region's finest traffic free paths, NCN route 1 through the Sylvan Wynyard Woodland Park. The dramatic Teesside starting point is one of many iconic sights along the way. You'll also pass the green, iron giant that is the Newport Lifting Bridge, its twin 185ft towers only dwarfed by the nearby transporter bridge. Once in Stockton on Tees, the route leaves the riverside and heads north west for Wynyard Woodland Park. The route follows a combination of roads and traffic free paths and is hilly in places.
