We start along the riverbank at Castleford and make our way through Methley boat yard under methley Bridge, joining the new Castleford to Wakefield greenway section to Fairies Hill. We then travel from Fairies Hill Canal along to Stanley Ferry marina where we cross over the next bridge to the the Hungry Horse pub for a refreshment stop. After refuelling we trace our steps leisurely back to Castleford. This is a fairly flat, picturesque route but dependent on weather can have one or two muddy patches although alot of the greenway is tarmacked.
