We will ride to Kingston, where we will cross the Thames and follow roads close to the river, passing Hampton Court and Lower Sunbury, until we reach the Bridge at Walton. Here we will cross the river again and head to Westend Commons at Esher and our café stop. Our return Journey will be via Claygate, Chessington and Ewell.

An ideal route for anyone looking to improve their road cycling confidence and increase their distance. The route will have some lovely views along the Thames and we will visit the pretty village green at Westend Commons.

The route is fairly flat with only one climb on the way back through Esher. Where possible we will use quieter roads (so that we can chat) and there will also be opportunities to build confidence on busier roads.

Our café stop will be the restaurant at Garson’s Farm which has views across their pick your own fields.

Please bring a helmet, water, spare inner tube, a small lock and money for the café stop. As this is a longer ride it is advisable to avoid bringing heavy bags or panniers.

We never leave anyone behind; the plan is to enjoy being out on our bikes as a group and have some cake along the way.
