Starting from - The start point is the free Great Western Road East car park just opposite B&M. What 3 words for this car park is ///neon.abode.moon if that helps but it's quite easy to get to from the motorway. Just straight over the roundabout by Aldi and then straight over the next roundabout and then it's on the left by the pedestrian crossing. Please don't use the B&M car park as is for customers only and I don't want know if you might get in trouble for parking there. There are toilets nearby. They are down the left hand side of B&M and at last check they needed 20p so please bring some change if you think you might need them. BS21 6HG

We leave the car park and head for Clevedon pier for the start of the signposted route. Then we follow the blue markers as we head towards the coastal path. We will ride along the seawall and here is where there are a couple of short sections of gravel. After this point we are into the lanes and we just keep following the markers towards Wick Saint Lawrence. Up until this point, the route is fairly flat. Then we climb as we head towards Kewstoke. The road undulates as we follow the coastline past Knightstone harbour and then W-S-M pier.
After lunch we continue along the seafront for a short while before turning inland and following the cycle paths back out of Weston. Just before we reach the M5, we turn to head north and wind our way through the lanes to Wick Road where we re-join the route we came out on and follow it back until just before we reach the seawall. Here, we turn right and follow Lower Strode Road back into Clevedon before joining the cycle path back to the car park. The return route is fairly flat all the way.

The Wednesday explorer's club is trying out the pier to pier way between Clevedon and Weston-Super-Mare

The route is a mix of traffic-free and quiet lanes. Some of the path as we leave Clevedon is gravel so road bikes with skinny tyres would not be the best choice.

We will stop in Weston-Super-Mare for lunch, either at the pier or one of the nearby cafes.

Please wear a helmet and bring along some money and a lock for the lunch stop. It is also a good idea to carry a spare tube just in case.

We never leave anyone behind
