Start at Astley Park Gates, Chorley PR7 1JU at 10 a.m. on Sunday 4th December. Car Parking is conveniently located on Queens Road car park, PR7 1JU. This is next to the park gates. Turn right immediately after the park gates when entering Chorley from the Preston direction or M61 junction 8. Parking should be free after 5 p.m. and all day on Sunday.
There is an alternative car park on Hallgate (for Astley Hall), Astley Village, Chorley PR7 1NP. This is free. There are adjacent public toilets which we will be passing on the way out.

Route passes through Astley Park to Euxton, then Back Lane to Eccleston. From here to Heskin Green, Wrightington, Appley Bridge, Holland Lees, Newburgh and Burscough Bridge, passing Mere Sands Wood Nature Reserve. Thence to Rufford, Mawdsley, the other end of Eccleston, then via NCN route 91 to Runshaw moor and Euxton returning to Astley Park via Whinney and Washington Lanes.

A ride around the quiet lanes of West Lancs to include a visit to Mere Sands Wood Nature Reserve.

Mostly quiet roads and back lanes. On Road cycle routes.

Lunch Stop probably at Mere Sands Wood, though others are available. Other stops as required.

Helmets are always advisable, though not compulsory. Please bring the usual puncture repair equipment and emergency tools. Cash / card if you require lunch. We recommend emergency or daytime running lights and also that all participants carry emergency contact details about their person.
