Whittle-Le-Woods

A steady and enjoyable route of 10.5 miles using traffic free cycle paths and quiet rural roads.

The route starts in Whittle Le Woods and heads through Cuerden Valley Park around Buckshaw Village and up to the Leeds /Liverpool canal in Chorley.

You will take in the sight of 7 locks at Johnsons Hillock and from there you will travel up to Denham quarry with marvellous views over the surrounding countryside before descending into Whittle le Woods and meandering along a cycle path through the woods by a small stream.

The final leg of the route takes you up from Whittle le Woods past the Ley Inn before turning back along the wooded Cuerden Valley Park cycle path to the finish at the Cuerden Valley car park in Whittle le Woods.
