CIRCULAR RIDE TO MARPLE AQUEDUCT

This is a route that takes us along three canals! The tow paths can be bumpy but we can ride slowly. Once we arrive in Marple, we can have a toilet stop and a café stop. We then have reached the middle of our rides. We carry on the third canal till we reach the Middlewwod way. From Hazel Grove onwards we ride on roads and paths. It is a long ride and it is difficult to predict exactly how long it might take. It is probably wise not to plan anything for mid-afternoon!

This is a challenging route due to the distance and uneven terrain along the canal. It is not suitable for road bikes or bikes with thin tyres.

The ride is mostly traffic free but there are some sections on roads.

We will stop to look at the magnificent aqueduct in Marple and we will have regular stops for snacks, drinks and photos!

Please wear a helmet, bring a bike lock, bike lights in working order, inner tube and snacks/money for the café. Please note that helmets are compulsory in order to go on the ride!
