Join us for a 10 mile ride around Claife Heights. This is a great introduction to Lakeland mountain biking riding on a ride that is never too technical but has stunning views and fun tracks to ride. We will be starting from Wray Castle and climbing up to Claife. Here we have a fabulous ride over open country and a chance to enjoy the scenery around Moss Eccles Tarn. We then have a fun descent and return to Wray Castle along the lakeshore path on the west side of Windermere. At the end of our ride we can enjoy the treats in the castle’s tearoom.
This ride is only suitable for mountain bikes due to the nature of the off road sections.
We will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. Our aim is for everyone to enjoy their ride and have a fun sociable ride in the company of other women, build up confidence in our riding in a supportive group environment, as well as ask questions about bikes and riding, and make links with others.
Remember to wear clothes that are comfortable and suitable for the weather to cycle in. It is a good idea to bring a spare inner tube, waterproof jacket, a bottle of water and a snack. We always recommend that you wear a cycle helmet.
