Clayton Vale

Clayton Vale Local Nature Reserve is a fantastic green area of reclaimed urban countryside. Originally a quiet river valley, the Vale was changed dramatically during the industrial period. However since being redeveloped in the 1980’s this 140 acre site is once again a wonderful place to visit. Much loved by walkers and families, the area is teeming with wildlife. And it is perfect for our bike ride. Enjoy this little peace of countryside right in the heart of east Manchester. Not cycled for a while and looking for an easy way to get back in the saddle? Fancy a fun way to get your friends or kids riding? Our Easygoing rides are great for building confidence for all abilities and ages along relaxed, mostly traffic-free routes. They’re up to six miles long, with a gentle pace of around six miles an hour.
