This is a 14 mile return cycle trip to Sywell Country Park from Northampton. It is guided and partly traffic free.

From the starting point, we will head East onto designated cycle paths that follow the Nene Valley Way towards and past Billing Aquadrome. It's a lovely cycle path that takes you along the river through some woodland.

When we arrive at Crow Lane, we will cross here and continue on the road of Lower Ecton Lane, eventually arriving onto the High Street of Ecton Village. The village itself is very pretty, and we will pass the Three Horseshoes Pub before continuing onto Northampton Road and to the World Ends Pub.

Turning right and heading East on the A4500 for a short while, we turn left, heading North onto Ecton Lane, passing some open fields and farms. We eventually arrive at Sywell Country Park.

We will stop at the cafe in Sywell Country Park for some refreshments, with snacks, coffee and ice cream available for purchase. There is a bike rack located next to the cafe to secure your bike.

We will return following the same road out of Sywell, but instead directly cross the A4500 into Ecton Village down Wellingborough Road, passing through the village on the opposite side. Turning left back onto Ecton High Street, we will re-trace our route back to Beckett's Park.

This is a steady ride with an average speed of 7.75 miles per hour.

If you have any questions, please get in touch. Hope to see you all soon for a relaxing and social ride.
