Colwick Burton Joyce Circular

About the ride Approx 15 miles. Some nature trails. Relatively easy going. No ascents/Descents, mainly flat. Hybrid/Mountain Bikes. Ages 12+ Locations enroute: Colwick Park, Stoke Lock, River Trent, Netherfield Lagoons, Stoke Bardolph, Burton Joyce. Route A nice ride through Colwick Park and then along the River Trent to Netherfield Lagoons. At this point we leave the river trail and do a lap of the lagoons before dropping back onto the river trail once more until we get to Stoke Lock. After a quick look we continue to Stoke Bardolph and onward cutting across the rear of Burton Joyce to the main road back towards the church before rejoining our way there and following the trail back to Colwick Park missing out the lap of the Lagoons. Once at Colwick we take a different route back through the park to the start line area. The journey is not too strenuous and does cover several trails so wider wheels are better. We travel with no mechs and techs or Meds so please be able to tend to yourself and your wheels, however if we can help we will obviously :) Helmets must be worn to ride on these events and no wheelies please! Refreshments There will be an opportunity to stop off at the Ferryman Inn at Stoke Bardolph for hot food and refreshments. Or a quick stop at Stoke Loch for a picnic and drinks break. Start line and directions Carpark at Colwick Park near Colwick Hall, see map. Turn off Dale Road into the park at the Racecourse turning. Follow the long driveway to the church and Hall, keep going and there is a small car park at the end. We will be assembled here. Expenses and Contacts Nottingham has a train station for those not mobile in a car, Colwick park is a few miles down the road from the station. Also the city centre has multiple parking opportunities for those who wish to add a few extra miles.
