Starting point

Hertfordshire
AL4 9UR

This ride is mostly for ladies who haven't been out on their bikes too much and wish to build confidence. We will start at Sandridge village hall. There is free parking if you need it. We will move onto the main road then quickly turn onto the country lanes and make our winding way around to Wheathampstead, We will join the main road into the town then turn up Brewhouse Hill where we will stop at the cafe. After our stop we will start off on the hill and then make our way to Nomansland and over the Wheathampstead road and back to Sandridge. The route is about 9 miles. We will be going at 8-10 mph and there are a few undulations but nothing too difficult. We only will travel as fast as the slowest person but the idea is to gain confidence on slightly longer routes and on short stretches of main roads.

A short but enjoyable route from Sandridge to Wheathampstead taking in country lanes and building confidence on main roads

Mostly country lanes but there are parts where we will be on main roads.

Around half way round we will stop at the Brewhouse Cafe in Wheathampstead

Please turn up at 9:45am so we can introduce ourselves and do a bike check. Please wear a helmet and make sure your bike is roadworthy. Bringing spare inner tubes and tools are always a good idea. We will be stopping for refreshments so bring cash/cards with you. Please do not turn up if you have COVID symptoms and if it's too late to cancel your place then ring me on my mobile which I will provide nearer the time

First-timers welcome!
