Meet at Brickfields carpark (free parking) where we will do a circuit of the carpark and then cycle one of the following routes. The aim of these 22 weeks of Summer Cycling is to see new parts of Plymouth whilst acquiring a basic level of fitness and confidence on a bike and improving our mental health. We will start slowly and gradually increase at your pace.

RIDE 1. THE FOUR PARKS: We follow the cycle path to Devonport Park. After a lap of The Bandstand we head onto the cycle route toward Central Park where we can practice some gear changing and polite hand signals over moderate hills. Finally, we will return on the cycle path to Somerset Place before reaching Victoria Park and Stonehouse Creek (park!).
or
RIDE 2. THE HOE & CAKE HILL SURPRISE. We cycle past the cricket pitch to the picturesque area of Mount Wise and Mutton Cove, snaking the River Tamar. Next we take a cycle path to Stonehouse, using the quieter road of George Place and ride through Quadrant Quay, West Hoe to rejoin a cycle path on Madeira Road and The Barbican. Another half a mile over the bridge and we reach Cake Hill. Surprise? There is no cake.

As much as possible we will keep to flat and non-road paths but inevitably, being Plymouth, there will be the occasional hill which can be walked.

If you are new to cycling, returning or fancy trying something a bit different this is just for you. Be supported with this fun group where conversation and laughter is as important as the bike ride! This ride is open to both women and men. BIKE HIRE AND HELMETS ARE available for £3.00 per person - please contact Louise on 07723 088246 to prebook. We would need to arrive 15 minutes early to sort out the bikes.

For one-on-one coaching pre-ride please contact Johnathan on [email protected].
