This is a scenic and historic route that explores the west side of the Conwy river. It is undulating with some longer uphill sections, so be prepared to work hard at times...but please note that it is a leisure ride, and there will be plenty of stops to take in the views, catch our breath, and chat.

PLEASE NOTE: CHANGE IN STARTING POINT ...This ride now begins at RSPB Conwy. Free parking & toilets (accessed through the shop)

From here, we will make our way along the shared off-road bike route alongside the estuary, where we will cross the railway bridge and join the Conwy town Junction path. Taking a left we cross the water, visiting the Suspension Bridge as we go, and cross the road back again to ride along the Conwy town harbour front, before heading up the busy High street and out under the Castle Walls.

We follow the higher lane alongside the river before dipping down to Hendre, and cruise along to Rowen, Pontwgan, and into the hamlet of Llanbedr y Cennin.

Whizzing down the hill, we arrive in Tal y Bont, and join the B road where we turn left and head north to T'yn y Groes (but only after a detour to St Mary's at Caerhun, the site of the Roman Fort, and one of the most tranquil spots to be found anywhere!).

Taking a right in the village, we will then ride down to the estuary but before the bridge we take a left and head up the hill and - several miles on and a little fitter - we re-join the B road opposite the Groes Inn.

Crossing here, we take the little lane opposite, and pretty soon we begin to retrace our steps back to Conwy and onwards to our starting point at the Junction.

This is a lovely, scenic ride along the quiet lanes of the Conwy Valley, travelling through a number of small villages, as well as the historic town of Conwy and it's iconic Suspension bridge. A stop at the wonderful St Mary's church at Caerhun is a highlight of the route.

This ride is mostly on small, quiet, country lanes with short sections on shared cycle/ pedestrian paths
