Hornsea Breezers Couch to 20 miles Ride 1 is 8 miles

We aim to plan a circular route around Hornsea either going out or coming back via Mappleton, Hull Road, Seaton Road (Honeysuckle Farm) or Atwick Road. The route will be posted on the Hornsea Life’s a Breeze facebook page beforehand.

Meet at the Hornsea Hub/Leisure Centre for a bike check and safety discussion with the Breeze ride leader. We’ll be riding the roads around Hornsea and increasing the mileage each week as follows: Ride 1 7 miles Ride 2 10 miles Ride 3 13 miles Ride 4 16 miles Ride 5 20 miles

We’ll be riding all types of roads around Hornsea such as A roads, country lanes and in the centre of Hornsea.

We’ll stop at regular intervals to check that we are all together and for a quick drink. If anyone would like a quick coffee before we set off or when we get back Hornsea Leisure Centre cafe is open until 10pm. There are no toilets on the ride.

Helmets and a roadworthy bike are compulsory as is a pump, inner tube to fit your tyre and a working back light. A bike check will be done at the start of each ride. If any advice is needed please contact the Leader of the ride. There is a bike shop at Hornsea Freeport to assist with inner tubes etc and also bike shops in Beverley and North Ferriby. It’s always helpful to wear a bright coloured top to be visible on the road - no need for Lycra - leggings and T-shirt are fine.
