Starting in Brighouse, we ride along the Rochdale canal through Sowerby Bridge to Mytholmroyd. We then take the road up Cragg Vale, which proudly claims to be the longest continuous gradient in England with 968 feet of climbing in 5.5 miles. It is not steep, just a classic long drag — a climb with an average gradient of just over 3%. We then take a swooping descent down Blackstone Edge with great views over Rochdale and greater Manchester. We cycle round Hollingworth Lake and take the canal to Todmorden, Hebden Bridge and then back to Brighouse.

A classic climb upto Cragg Vale and a great descent into Littleborough

Canal paths (some very bumpy in parts) and quiet roads up and down Cragg Vale.

Lunch at Hollingworth Lake in Littleborough, and tea in Hebden Bridge if we have time.

Helmets, spares and money for lunch.

We never leave anyone behind
