Crazies Hill to Christmas Common

It's December, and time to head for Christmas Common for a look at the Christmas Trees and Barn. We start by dropping down to cross the Thames and along the Hambleden Valley (all very gradual). A bit of effort for our only proper climb today, which is up Dolesden Lane to Turville Heath. not steep just long). Then gradual again from Northend to Christmas Common. 13 miles done, and a stop to look at the Christmas Barn, before continuing another 5 easy flat miles into Nettlebed, where we will have refreshments indoors, at McQueen’s Deli. (converted church). Pretty much all downhill for the next 8 miles back into Henley, then one more climb up “Flower Pot Hill” back to the start.

Cycle helmets are compulsory. Please check your bike the night before, chain oiled, tyres fully inflated (makes it easier!), and always carry a spare inner tube suitable for your tyre size. And preferable two! And a pump which you know fits your valve.
