The route starts on the Crichton estate and follows a path to Castledykes Park where we then cross the Nith to go through Troqueer to New Abbey road. We will then follow the cycle route to Cargenbridge and onto the Maxwellton Railway Cycle Path. We return over the bridge at the rowing club and follow the Nith back along the Whitesands, through Dock Park to the entrance to Castledykes Park and return to the Crichton Estate.

The ride will be a mix of cycle paths and quiet town roads.

We will stop at various points to view the river Nith. Riders can request stops.

All cyclists should wear a cycle helmet and dress for variable Scottish weather. There is no coffee stop planned.

This is a beginner route which is fairly flat and mostly off roads.
