Crinan Canal - Mac Pool to Polly's Coffee stop

The majority of this ride is traffic free canal tow path. We will leave the car park and take a short trip along the road before turning right to join the tow path just before the roundabout. The ride is 6.4 miles in total (3.2 miles there and back). We will stop at Dunardry Locks at Polly's coffee stop. Please bring a method of payment (cash or card) if you want to buy any refreshments. There are picnic tables available at the stop point.

This is a short traffic free route of 6 miles in total with very little elevation, along the canal tow path. It is perfect for anyone new to cycling or returning after a period off the bike. Our aim is to help you feel supported and to enjoy cycling in a relaxed and friendly environment.

This route will be predominately on the canal with just a short road section to access the canal at the beginning. We will make one road crossing on foot then part of the canal path has shared access with cars on single track. You will be guided by two leaders at all times.

We will stop at Polly's Coffee stop at Dunardy Locks on the Crinan Canal. Generally you can have a hot drink and cake with occasionally soup. You can find the menu for Polly's on Facebook and they take card payments. Should the coffee shop be closed for any reason we can have refreshments back at the Mac Pool Activity Hub cafe.

Please bring along a well fitting helmet, water, a snack, some cash or a card if you wish to purchase refreshments. Please dress for the weather in clothes you feel comfortable in. We also ask that you bring along a pump and inner tube to fit your bike.
