Get on the train at Stratford or Liverpool st and meetup at Sudbury

The Central London Outdoor Group (CLOG) (founded 1937) has one or two easy cycle rides in the countryside nearly every week between March and October ranging from 20 to 35 miles. These are easily accessible by public transport from London and are on quiet roads or cycle paths.

By bike we explore rivers, canals, forts, castles, coast, marshes, gardens, woods, ruins, churches, mansions, cycle-ferries, churchyards, villages, lost railways....

Non members can come up to 3 cycle rides or other events to try us out before joining. Photos from past cycle rides and walks: https://www.flickr.com/photos/clogpics/albums/

We also do around 20 trips away(weekend or longer) in the UK and abroad every year.

Cycle ride in Constable Country including lost railway, iconic cafe and historic villages 32 miles.

This time we are off cycling in Suffolk's Constable Country.

We cycle out of Sudbury along a cycle path on the disused Stour Valley railway that once linked Colchester to Cambridge. Our first stop (at 6miles) is the iconic Wally's Shed Cafe - a cafe unlike any other - ' an institution for those in the know'. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g210101-d2204095-Reviews-Wally_s_Shed-Sudbury_Babergh_District_Suffolk_East_Anglia_England.html

After tea or coffee or whatever at Wally's, we are back cycling through the quiet Suffolk lanes. We may stop for lunch at White Horse in Edwardstone www.edwardstonewhitehorse.co.uk or in the 14th Century Bell Inn in Kersey https://en-gb.facebook.com/thekerseybell/ or else we can cycle a few more miles and have lunch at one of the pubs and cafes in the ancient market town of Hadleigh http://visithadleighsuffolk.co.uk

From Hadleigh we head south through Lower Layham, Shelley and then west to Stoke by Nayland and Nayland where we can stop for a drink. Then generally following the River Stour we pedal on to Bures where we catch our train back to London.
