This ride is by Central London Outdoor Group (CLOG) http://www.clog.org.uk. Non CLOG members can come up to 3 cycle rides or other events to try us out before joining. https://membermojo.co.uk/clog. CLOG is aimed at adults rather than families. Cycle ride: Woods, gardens, mansions canals and marshes 20 miles. Easy A relaxed ride, starting in Hadley Wood. Mainly gently downhill, and includes beautiful sections by and through woods, canal tow paths and marshes. A highlight of the ride is a visit the gardens of two amazing old mansions. (Entry is free to both). Both have nice cafes so we can have brunch or lunch at one or the other. We can allow a couple of hours or more for lunch/brunch and exploring the two magnificant gardens Myddleton House https://www.visitleevalley.org.uk/en/content/cms/nature/gardens-heritage/myddelton-house-gardens/ (Entry to the Gardens is free and they are open all year round but gate for direct entry from cycle path closes at 3pm) Forty Hall https://www.fortyhallestate.co.uk/page/gardens-parkland/ After the visit to the gardens we get back on our bikes and head towards the Lee. We can finish this ride is various places depending on how long we want to spend in the gardens and how much cyciing we want to do. For example we can finish at Turkey St station (7miles), Ponders End (10 miles), Northumberland Park (13 miles), Hackney Wick (19 miles) and Stratford (20 miles). Meeting Up Be on the train that leaves Drayton Park at 10:48 getting into Hadley Wood at 11:10am. http://trains.im/schedule/G46686/2017/05/30/ This train stops at lots of stations including Finsbury Park if you want to connect onto it there. I will be catching the Overground from Stratford to Highbury & Islington and cycling a short distance around HighburyFields to Drayton Park (as no cycles allowed on the train between Moorgate and Drayton Park other than folders), so there are lots of options for getting to this train.
