This ride is part of a series of "touring taster" rides organised by Cycle Bristol CTC:

http://cyclebristolctc.org.uk/

This ride is an afternoon tea ride to Hill in the Severn vale, where the village hall committee sell tea and cakes between 2pm and 4pm on the first Sunday of every month. So this ride is a "taster" in every sense! It is short (only 12 miles out and 13 miles back) and will be deliberately gentle enough to accommodate riders who may be new to Cycle Bristol CTC. We will leave from the Swan Inn in Winterbourne at 1pm. This is to allow riders to have a mid-morning brunch before setting out on the ride, while leaving space for the pavlova or cheesecake (or scones, or...) at Hill. We will take an easy route out via Tytherington and Milbury Heath, and return on the lanes through Oldbury on Severn, and then across via Alveston. There is one fairly steep hill on the way back (Mumbleys), which may be ridden or walk/pushed - in either case hopefully well-fuelled! Allowing roughly an hour and a half to get to Hill, a comfortable 45 minutes there, and an hour and three quarters returning, we should be back at the start by 5pm. On the return, those who need leading back to Winterbourne will be led by the ride leader. However, others may choose to return by continuing down Old Gloucester Road to the end.

Your ride leader is Peter Metelerkamp.
