Our 14 mile route will use some cycleways in Stevenage but then leave the town and then use country lanes out towards Aston, Knebworth, Woolmer Green and Datchworth before returning across the length of Fairlands Valley Park.
There will great views of the countryside around Stevenage, a little gentle climbing and a couple of long descents.

A 14 mile starter ride out to the countryside around Stevenage.

We will use some cycleways but about half of the ride will be on country lanes.

No stop is planned but the cafe (and ice cream van) will be open at Fairlands if you want refreshments before the ride or when we get back. We will stop to have a drink of water as required - do bring a bottle with you.

We do leave Stevenage on this ride so make sure that your tyres are well pumped up and bring a spare inner tube that fits your bike just in case. The weather is likely to be warm so make sure you have some water with you and maybe a snack.

New riders are welcome - especially those who have been on one of our ABC rides but feel they are ready to ride further.
