An introduction to the velodrome at Derby Arena. Ever fancied having a go at track cycling ? Well now's your chance!! This is a great opportunity to have a coached 2 hr session, don't worry you won't be on track the whole time (that would be seriously hard work) but you'll be taught the basic's in track cycling. We'll be sharing lifts from Daventry where possible or you'll need to find your own way there. This is a paid for event I'm afraid but it promises to be a great evening !

If you've not tried track cycling before, it's one to add to your bucket list !! Bicycles for velodromes have no brakes. They employ a single fixed rear gear, or cog, that does not freewheel. This helps maximise speed, reduces weight, and avoids sudden braking while nevertheless allowing the rider to slow by pushing back against the pedals.

Costs: If you are already a Daventry Cycling Club Member the cost is £20.00 for the session, if not the cost is £25.00. Once booked on to the ride, please message me for the bank details. Payment needs to be made in full prior to the evening

Bike & shoe hire is available at additional cost from Derby Arena - Bike Hire £13.45 for 2 hours and shoe hire £6.20 (you don't need to hire shoes if you use Look Keo)
