A chance to celebrate the pubs re-opening and take advantage of the lengthening days to have a leisurely ride along the River and Canal and leave the stress of the working day behind. The route will take us through Derby, over Exeter Bridge and then along the Riverside path, through Alvaston Park and on to Borrowash where we pick up the Derby Canal. The Navigation Inn is situated at the end of the canal path and has plenty of outdoor space in which to socially distance

After work ride along the River Derwent and Derby Canal to The Navigation Inn at Breaston.

The road is mainly traffic free following NCN 6 along the River Derwent and the Derby Canal to Breaston. The Riverside Path is gravelly and uneven at certain points, so not suitable for road bikes. There is a small section at Draycott which in on road. The work along the Draycott section of the Derby Canal is currently suspended because of storm damage. If it restarts, the path will be closed and it will be necessary to continue cycling on the rode to Hopwell Road where we will rejoin the traffic free path to the pub.

At the Navigation Inn we will stop for a drink and a chat before taking the same route back to Darley Park

Helmets are advisable. Please bring some money for the pub
