Starting point

Derbyshire
S44 6GA

Running parallel to the River Doe Lea from Carr Vale, near Bolsover to Bramley Vale. At the northern end in Bolsover there is a car park situated off the A632 at the bottom of Bolsover Hill adjacent to the Peter Fidler Reserve which the trail runs through.

At the southern end of the trail you will find the Glapwell Countryside Site. This country park was reclaimed in the 1980s and now boasts a range of facilities. These include access to the Doe Lea Local Nature Reserve and the Glapwell MTB Trail.

The MTB Trail is a 2km blue grade trail built and maintained by Bike Track. Ideal as a family loop or a training venue, the trail is mainly undulating with one short sharp climb and a good fast bermed descent - we won't be venturing onto the MTB Trail though!.

Starting at the Peter fidler nature Reserve we will round round the perimeter to warm up and then join the Stockley trail riding the whole length before turning round and coming back again. The return route will vary very slighlty. This is mainly a flat route but there are a couple of short hills to climb. Don't worry you can always walk them and we won't leave anyone behind!

Mainly on the trail, a couple of road crossings.

There are no facilities on this route although we will stop as required.

Please bring snacks and a drink, spare inner tubes and a puncture repair kit and pump (no sharing), hand sanitiser, gloves and a mask in case it is needed. We will be maintaining social distancing at all times.

This ride is aimed at families who have started to ride again together - we won't leave anyone behind and will ride at the pace of the slowest rider.
