From the White Church we will cycle along Stockton Road to Prebends Bridge to find the Cathedral. From here we will pedal on down to the Heron and the coloured benches before returning through the city and along the riverbank paths to Whinney Hill before returning via Hallgarth Street to the White Church. Riders are welcome to stay for a drink and to discuss future adventures
A chance to try night riding on some of the quieter roads and off road routes around Durham. Gain confidence and friends in our series of fortnightly Night Rides.
Quiet road and traffic free routes around Durham city, designed to give you confidence in cycling after dark
We plan to start each ride at a different hostelry location to allow the option of refreshment following the ride.
We recommend helmets for all. As this is a night ride, we also ask that you ensure you have both front and rear bicycle lights, ideally at 700 lumens, but at least 400 to ensure that you can see where we are going. We also recommend reflective coats and warm gloves as it will get colder as we get into the winter.
Come along and try night riding
