Starting point

DH1 1SW

Freeman's Quay Leisure Centre, Walkergate, Durham, County Durham, DH1 1SW

An easy and picturesque ride leaving from Freemans Quay leisure centre, heading across the bridge and through fields up to Frankland prison and across to Finchale Priory on quiet roads. This route is mainly off road and suitable for children of 8+. There are two inclines on the journey to Finchale and a steep exit from the Priory itself. This is an excellent opportunity to enjoy the fields and history around Durham and cake at Finchale. Don’t have a bike?  You can hire one FREE OF CHARGE from the centre.  You will need to book in advance so please contact 0191 301 8306 or email [email protected]. Look forwards to seeing you there!
