From Ealing Broadway we will ride towards Northfields, Boston Manor and onto the Thames by Brentford/Kew to use the C9 cycle route for a short while. We then follow the road by Strand on the Green and we will cross the river at Chiswick Bridge. We will then follow the towpath to reach the Kew National Archives.
Our return journey takes us over Kew Bridge and into Gunnersbury Park. We will make our way back to our start point at Ealing Town Hall using mainly, the towpath, paths in the park, back streets and alleyways.

Route rating

0 stars (0) Reviews

This is a shortish ride, just under 20 kms, with minimal inclines, which could make it ideal for women who want to restart cycling.

This ride will take us where possible along cycle paths, traffic free trails across parks, shared paths, quieter roads avoiding as much as possible busier roads. You will however be on some busier roads at time, therefore you need to be confident riding in such conditions.

We will stop at the Kew National Archives where you will be able to buy food and refreshments, but if the weather is good, you could also bring your own food and drinks as there is a lovely outdoor seating area. For those interested, you will have a bit of time to visit the free and interesting “MI5 Official Secrets” exhibition. https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/mi5-official-secrets/ To enter the National Archives, your bags will be checked by the Security Staff and you will need to place your big bags in the lockers provided before entering the exhibition.

*Helmets aren't compulsory but advisable. *Check that your tyres are pumped and bring a spare inner tube and all necessary tools in case of a puncture. *If you can't make it anymore, cancel your space so someone else can join. *Bring some Money/card for the refreshments in the café. *Bring Locks for your bike. *Bring Water & snacks.

First-timers welcome!
