Postponed Easter Beaster

Load up with chocolate eggs and a flask of tea or coffee for this hilly beast of a ride on Easter Sunday! There are lots of hills in a relatively short distance, but as ever the work is rewarded with one or two fabulous descents. We'll head up the hills from Gronant, through Llanasa and Trelawnyd and then along lovely, quiet country lanes to the nice, curvy descent down the old Rhuallt Hill, which is now a very quiet road in terms of traffic. After leaving Rhuallt we'll cross the A55 via a foot/ cycle bridge and head up the hill in to St Aspah. After passing through this tiny city we'll soon reach the lovely Rhuddlan nature reserve where we'll stop at the picnic benches for a pitstop with a lovely view of Rhuddlan Castle. We'll then head right up to the Castle where we can pause to take some photographs, after which we'll head along quiet country lanes up to Dyserth and on to the old railway path. We'll return back to the car park via Prestatyn hillside, just for a last challenge to the legs!
