Broompark Picnic Site

Sunday 17th April 2017 at 10am 22 miles Broompark to Bishop Auckland Join us for a railway path bonanza from Broompark Picnic Area (DH7 7RJ), along the Brandon Bishop Railway path to Bishop Auckland where we’ll have refreshments and feel the buzz of the Bisop Auckland Renaissance! The ride is on a railway path and so will be largely traffic free without too many hills. We will pass through Meadowfield, Brandon, Willington, Hunwick before riding over the restored Newton Cap Viaduct to Bishop Auckland. We’ll retrace our wheels on our return. The railway paths are mainly a good surface so will be suitable for all bikes apart from very skinny road tyres. This is a good ride if you want to start to build up your confidence mileage wise while also enjoying some of Durham’s lovely countryside. Please come suitably dressed for the weather and make sure you’ve got a spare tube to fit your tyres. Expect to return to Broompark by 3pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult participant and capable of riding the distance comfortably. Under 16s must wear a helmet. If you want any more information email me at [email protected] or leave a message on Our Breeze Network Durham Facebook page. Audrey and Jacki
