Part of a days mountain biking in the Elan valley
This is the morning ride on country lanes, bridleways and farm tracks, suitable for those new to mountain biking. Suitable for hybrid or trail bikes with off-road tyres as well as mountain bikes
Leaving the visitors centre along lanes through lovely sessile oak woodland and then climbing to Carn Gafallt common and over Cefn Hill along farm tracks. Long descent to Llawrthwl and then on lanes to where the rivers Elan and Wye meet and returning along bridleways and Elan trail to the visitors centre. A good introduction to off-road riding with great views!
We return to the visitors centre for lunch and an afternoon ride for those who want to stay
