The route takes us up the Porter Valley to the edge of the Peak District National Park where there are panoramic views of Sheffield. We will then ride round the three Redmires Reservoirs and have a refreshment stop at the Three Merry Lads public house. The return journey will take us back down Porter Valley to Endcliffe Park.
The first quarter of this ride is uphill, which steepens onto a tarmac lane as we reach the edge of the Peak District some 850 feet above where we started. There is no problem getting off to walk the steeper sections. No one will be left behind.
The route is a mix of off-road tracks, traffic-free or quiet roads. In places some of the tracks are a little rough, loose and bumpy and so the route is best suited for hybrid or mountain bikes.
We recommend that you wear a helmet and bring a spare inner tube. You may also wish to bring money for the refreshment stop.
Meet at the café in Endcliffe Park S11 7AB (please note that this postcode is not precise and conflicts with S10 3FQ which is also wrong and automatically generated from the map start point). Alternatively, the precise location can be found using the What3Words grid -

On-street parking is normally available on Rustlings Road or Oakbrook Road (alongside the park).
